Our Committees

Event coordination

The Event Coordination Committee is a great place for students to take the lead in planning and executing all of our exciting events—from fun social networking gatherings to hosting professional guest speakers and organizing fundraising opportunities! Members will work closely with guest speakers and legal leaders to create exceptional opportunities for learning and networking. As our largest and most dynamic committee, event coordination members will have the chance to collaborate and ensure each event is a memorable experience that brings our PLACES community together.

Legal Research & Writing

The Legal Research & Writing Committee is a dynamic team of individuals passionate about the law, required to complete writing and research assignments on a weekly basis. These assignments help students build upon their articles addressing a wide range of contemporary legal issues. By joining this committee, undergraduate students will research cutting-edge legal topics, enhance writing skills, and publish work on this very website! Our articles will be shared with legal communities and beyond, establishing our voice in the field of law.

Media

The Media Committee is perfect for any student looking to develop their media production skills while being a key part of a close-knit team. Media Committee members play an integral role in crafting engaging posters and videos for all of PLACES’ media outlets, including LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and Spotify for our podcast. Our content will be seen by thousands across various platforms, shaping the way people interact with our content.

Academics

In the Academics Committee, students will shape the academic success of our members by focusing on valuable internship and externship opportunities, organizing LSAT study groups, and spearheading PLACES mentorship initiative. Law school applications are known to be difficult to fill out, but this committee seeks to help our members by creating various instructional guides! Academics offers the perfect opportunity for any student passionate about academic development and empowering fellow students to succeed in their law school applications.

Community Outreach

In the Community Outreach Committee, students play a crucial role in strengthening our connection with public service organizations, pro-bono opportunities, and donation drives to boost PLACES’ participation in community service! Community Outreach members will be key to helping our organization make a lasting, positive impact on our legal community. With more community service opportunities available to PLACES, the organization will empower fellow students and legal professionals alike to embrace the spirit of service.
